Electrical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our team at a fast-growing Smart Home Solutions company. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems and smart home devices including lighting systems, automation controls, security systems, and sensors. This role requires a proactive technician with hands-on experience in electrical wiring and low-voltage systems, and a strong understanding of smart technologies used in residential and commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and test smart home systems including lighting control, HVAC integration, smart switches, sensors, security systems, and automation hubs.
  • Perform electrical wiring and connections based on schematics and electrical drawings.
  • Conduct diagnostics and repair of smart devices and system components.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure system compatibility and seamless integration.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes and company safety standards.
  • Provide technical support during system commissioning and client handover.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and inspections.
  • Train clients on proper system usage and basic troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) as an Electrical Technician, preferably in automation or smart home installations.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, low-voltage circuits, and control wiring.
  • Familiarity with smart home platforms (e.g., Tuya, Zigbee, Z-Wave, KNX, Google Home, Alexa, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, measurement instruments, and testing devices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred

  • Certification in smart home systems or low-voltage installations.
  • Experience with networking and IoT device integration.
